/r/Beermoney is a community for people to discuss mostly online money-making opportunities. You shouldn't expect to make a living, but it is possible to make extra cash on the side for your habits/needs.

I've been a long time lurker of this subreddit but never actually tried it for myself besides a few casual attempts at usertesting.com.

Yesterday, I felt bad about spending $100 on treats and toys for my dog Genghis so I figured I would give it another go.

I made $50 in about an hour which isn't much compared to my NYC tech salary but for some reason I felt like this money had more value. It's quite exciting.

It didn't offset my impulsive spending for the day (I even spent another $25 on dinner).

I'm hooked. I'm going try to do this more regularly to see if I can use this beer money to offset my impulsive and materialistic purchases.
